Time to post a new Journal
I don't have anything special to say --that may be printed that is-- so it will be a great time to make a feature with some of the beautiful art straight from my recent s of some of my friends
I can't post art from all of them as it would require something like 10 journals
So here it is, I am using the special "Scroll box" by BeyondTheHorizon
Here we go - Hope I can Show them all
Please use the bar on the right to scroll down and see all the images featured,

8 Years in dA - My Story !Deviant since January 2006 !
I have always been attracted to art and or images colourful and with beautiful shapes.
Since I was about 5 yo I admired and loved the beautiful shapes that may be found in a kaleidoscope, of course when I saw a Fractal image it was love at first sight.
Though I didn't subscribe to dA to do fractals I was part of a most interesting forum named "Utopia Graphics" we made all sorts of art, mainly photomanips on my part, and for some reason we had to post our work here in deviantart which is why I subscribed.
deviantART was slightly older than a toddler when I joined it, 8 years ago. January 2006
My first love in fractal art was by cabbie666 (his work was also my first in all categories ) I didn't know what program he used but it reunited all my favourite conditions, beautiful shape and colours.
After reading a lot of material about fractal art I decided to dow
July - August Some News + Some DecisionsSeasons + Climate + Decisions
So they are here (or there) again, Summer :iconsunglompplz: for the North and Winter for the South.
For me, and being from Argentina it's a blessing, I am sorry though for those friends up North who are suffering a particularly fierce Summer.
I totally H A T E Summer and feeling hot and sweatty, or should I say "dewy" ? :iconthinkingplz:
But it's not news to anybody who knows me from way back.
OK, Enough of weather chitchat !
I think you all dear and loyal friends, have heard enough excuses and apologies from me about my -always- late responses.
Needless to say I am sorry for that, but without really suffering from depression, I do get periods of non-activity --I guess that being 74 sort of has something to do about it-- :iconnaughtygrandmaplz: so I end up with incredible amounts of Thank yous, and Comments in general that need responding. Not to mention th
May-June 2014 and stuffSome News and Apologies
As it has been established I am not being a "good girl" regarding my duties on updating info in my Journal, and am awfully behind in my Thanks for encouraging comments and the I know that the easy way is our friend the "delete" button, but I don't like to do that, I LOVE to see the marvelous art of my friends and watched ones.
But you all know that

April - Belated update and usual apologiesLots of Love
Yes it is time to sadly express my usual apologies for very late and/or nonexistent responses to your nice and supportive comments I so wish I could honestly say that it will not happen again, but I know it will not be so. All I can say is that I'll do my best.
Please forgive me I assure you though that I read and enjoy each and every one of your sweet comments and favourites
I am bringing a few of some of my favourite fractals as gifts for you, dear patient and faithful friends

Tutorial - Animated Stamps - My WayI made it specially for fractal2cry who indicated to be interested in learning how to make stamps, but of course I welcome anyone who will find it useful to use it. Let me know if it was useful.
In fact, rather than a Tutorial, I think this is an explanation of how I go about making animated stamps in Photoshop.
It is assumed that the user has good knowledge of Photoshop tools and other features.
This may not be the best or shortest way and neither the only way of course, but it's how it works for me.
I use Photoshop CS4 (I think it's version 11)
So, I open the program, load the images I will use for the stamp, resize them to the stamps measurements.
The "official" size originally specified by dA was/is 99 x 56 px @ 72dpi so I set the size of my work at 99x56 and increase the resolution to 288dpi, that gives me a new working size or resolution of 396x225 px.
Once I finish with the stamp I resize it either to the original specified dimensions or maybe reduce the

Sta-sh Works for Me Now - go figure
Those who know me and are kind enough to read my Journals and occasional Rant about some of dA "improvements" might be rather surprised for what I'm about to say, but fair is fair. After all "Fair Play" is my favourite phrase
After many years pissing and moaning about the famous Sta.sh application it seems they have gotten it to work really well. Congratulations to the dA team responsible for that.
I am now able to use my favourite skin and even work directly on it, creating a draft for a Journal and saving it if I am not finished
Creating your own MangaIntroduction
You have a great story, a bunch of characters and you want to create a manga. However, where do you start? Do you have it Left->Right or Right->Left? How should you publish it (*note: some publishers may have additional requirements/restrictions)?
The process is pretty much the same for any graphic progression such as comics.
Luckily, there are a great number of tutorials to help you on your way.
A storyboard is a panel or series of panels which detail the sequence of significant events in a planned scene, i.e. a rough sketch coupled with some words to describe the actions in the scene.
At this point you'd need to have an idea of whether you are making a left->right or right->left manga.
Photoshop tutorial- PS basics 4I'm back with my journal tutorials for Photoshop. I didn't post any new journal tutorial in a while. Anyway, my previous tutorial you can check here. I'll describe some Photoshop basics for everyone who try to learn to use Photoshop. So in this article you'll find tutorials: Tilt-Shift, Customizing brush 2, Lens Flare, Mask Tool,.
If you wish to see images in full resolution then simply click on the images below (they are big 1920 x 1080 px). I used Photoshop CC here, so some things may be different in lower PS versions. But most of things may be the same in all PS versions. I'll make even more tutorials like this, so stay tuned. And if you like it, then you can fav this article. Thank you and enjoy. I hope it's helpful. More tutorials by me you can see in feature below.
PE: How to Scan and Adjust ImagesTutorial Time: How to scan and adjust images on Photoshop!
Hello everyone, welcome to this tutorial article of PE week!
well, you know, there is this youtube channel where there's lots of videos regaring tips, tricks and general advice for artists, and it is the best I've seen of the kind. But sadly, it is only in portuguese - hence why cinyu came up with the great idea of getting me to translate one of their videos!
I decided to pick up this one regarding scanning and adjusting images on photoshop, because that is one of the most basic, yet worst parts for many traditional artists. This tutorial is mostly for scanning black and white works, so it'll be more useful if you're working on manga/comic pages or inked art, but I hope it'll give you some ideas and help out in general on how scanning works.
I'll be translating the most important parts of the video, along with screenshots. Let's get started!
Things you'll need:
When It's HardHi folks! I realized in my most recent round of blogs that I've been a little quick to tell you all to put on your grown up panties, but this one is going to be a little different. Making art can be one of the most exhilarating things you'll ever do, but (and this is from personal experience also) 80% of the time you're going to fail. You'll spill your ink all over that glorious drawing. Oil from your hands will permanently stain only the portion of paper that was meant to remain a snowy white. Your computer's hard drive will crash or all your image files (all the WIPs especially) will get corrupted. You'll try something new and it just won't work out the way you envisioned. These things are the parts that aren't really spoken about enough, and so when they happen to us we assume that we're doing something terribly wrong. I'm here to tell you that we all go through these things and there's always a solution!
When you're not improving

How to render MMD videos like a pro!
The DeviantArt MMD community is notorious for its drama and mini-conflicts. It has also been the one in which I've encountered some of the rudest people on the Internet. However, I have also been rather fortunate in being able to become acquainted with some of the nicest, talented and knowledgeable people I've ever encountered anywhere. Many of these have graced my gallery with their visits, comments, encouragement and attentions. And a few, perhaps some of the most talented, have graciously given me access to hard to get models, exclusive previews of their MMD work and even insights into their methods of doing things.
Occasionally, I am gifted with real gems and this was the case when garmus1 dropped a note in my inbox the other night. Apart from the depth of knowledge that he gives into his methods, he's also given me permission to share that knowledge with the rest of the community.
Now, I know that some of you will have, after reading only

IowaIf you visit Iowa,
you'll call her fields empty,
but she wasn't born that way.
A part of her was carved out
when she was ripped between Virginia
and the purple mountains of New Mexico.
Her gold hair, she tore it out when she realized
it didn't make her a princess.
She laid her locks strung along every road
leading somewhere else.
White hairs on her cheeks
are scars from winter.
Her hair darkens with the dampness
of summer rains.
The storms are never silent,
but neither is life when there's a tear
in your childhood where
a parent ought to be.
I've been flooded by Iowa's sorrow.
The only way I can distract her from her own voided landscape
is if I hate myself harder than she cries.
She just wants to fly
and I want to bus or train,
not because I fear death, but because
I want to take living slow.
It's the only way I ever feel.
From the air it's hard to watch Earth's hips move.
But Earth can't compare to the country.
That's my girl.

To depression, for creating days without endWake up to the realization that you've been awake
for seconds, minutes, hours.
You've been awake in this warm, dark room
and you don't know how long it's been
but now you're conscious
and it starts again--
the pain, strong and steady, in your chest.
You gain consciousness in this too warm morning
and your thoughts whir in endless loops
because it's either that or face the weight in your chest.
Light breaks though the window, soft and unwelcome
but you take it as a reluctant gift--
a new distraction from the feelings awake in your chest.
Awake, but not conscious.
So you think yourself in circles a little while longer
waiting for those quiet pains
(the constant reminder)
to gain consciousness.
